Lee's engagements encompass a who's who of the Global 1000: energy, chemicals, finance, marine, consumer products, transportation, high tech; along with health management and not-for-profits. Working with the top team and boards, Lee is an executive coach to Chairmen, CEO's and other key executives and leaders.
Before establishing Palomar, Lee was a senior manager with Shell International Petroleum Company, London, England in the human resources, management development, organizational consulting, and strategy functions. Based in London, he led Shell International Petroleum's management and executive education department. Subsequently, Lee was Shell's senior internal organizational consultant working in the strategy and change field - his introduction to the scenario approach to business strategy and planning.
Lee has a B.A., an M.A. and a Ph.D. (organizational behavior - Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH). . He holds a postgraduate diploma in psychotherapy (Dip. Psy. - The Cleveland Institute of Gestalt Therapy, Cleveland, OH). Dr. Van Horn is "Great Plains Energy Distinguished Fellow-Strategic Management" (The Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration; The University of Missouri at Kansas City). In addition, he is active on many boards and community organizations.
C. Ross van Horn serves Palomar's clients globally in three key areas: facilitating strategic conversations, change management, and executive coaching.
Ross has over ten years of consulting experience throughout Africa, the Middle East and the USA. He has led and contributed to major change initiatives and other organizational development interventions for companies in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. He has coached numerous executives and managers in Africa using a variety of contemporary tools and techniques.
In addition to his core work as a consultant, Ross has provided strategic advice and policy analysis for UNESCO, the Institute for National Strategic Studies, The Nature Conservancy and other organizations. He was the sponsored representative specialist on globalization at the 2007 UNEP Global Civil Society Forum.
Ross van Horn is formally trained in Appreciative Inquiry at Case Western Reserve University, and in Conflict Management at Erasmus University. He holds an MA in International Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He has also received training in coaching techniques from the Gestalt International Study Center.
Lori's expertise: Finance, Human Resources and Strategic Planning have developed over a 20 year career in management, executive and consulting roles. Her interest and focus is strategy development and measurement; economic and financial analysis; organization design and redesign; and succession planning.
With clients in the chemical, distribution, construction and energy sectors Lori has provided input and support in scenario creation and development; strategic options development, prioritization and implementation; business development and associated risk management; and identification and building competencies to execute business plans.
Prior to consulting Lori held roles as Controller, senior executive, and CFO in publicly traded companies based in North America with subsidiary operations in South America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The industries: commodity chemical, industrial and finished goods manufacturing, processing, transportation, and energy services. She has held the senior functional roles accountable for: Accounting, Finance, Risk, Strategy and Human Resources. Lori has played a key role in business growth and expansion, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Lori has a B.B.A. (Accounting) and an MBA. She is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination... Lori has also earned her Chartered Director (CDir) certification.
Wayne has more than 20 successful years as a management and human resources consultant in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. His particular expertise and interests lie in organizational behaviour, organizational assessment, management development, performance management, executive coaching, team-building and organization development.
Wayne has supported clients from a broad spectrum: marine, oil and gas, mining, fish farming, forestry, high-tech, entertainment, transportation and not-for-profit, in addition to all three levels of government. In the area of leadership he has developed and implemented change processes which transferred management from ex-pats to nationals, introduced team-based organizational structures to improve company-wide productivity, and identified and developed talent for succession.
Prior to consulting, Wayne held both functional and institution wide accountability for highly visible and sensitive organizations in the public service and not-for-profit sector. He has led organizations with local and national mandates and successfully designed and implemented changes focused on increasing quality and efficiency of service delivery.
Wayne has a Ph.D. (Organizational Behaviour - Ohio State, Columbus, OH). He is a certified user of the William Bridges Leading Organization Transition approach, the Birkman assessment method, the Career Architect/Lominger Competency approach and Myers-Briggs. .Wayne is a recognized international trainer in the delivery of the Blanchard Leadership and Team Building programs. He is a Certified Human Resources Professional and a Certified Management Consultant (Fellow).
Troy has successfully assisted clients for more than 15 years. His expertise and interest is in organizational strategy and its effective implementation and management to improve corporate performance. Troy is equally adept at working with the top team on scenario development and identifying the scorecard elements and measures which reflect true alignment with business intent and underpin at-risk compensation systems.
His clients include major North American companies (Fortune 500) with globally recognized brands and an international footprint: automotives, energy, chemicals, pulp & paper, financial services, insurance, marine, consumer products, hospitality, transportation & logistics, high tech, telecommunications; health/medical industries and utilities. Troy often works from strategic implementation models framed from: growth management or cost management as appropriate to the client circumstance.
Troy has assisted clients at all stages business cycle: market identification, evaluation, entry, development and exit; line of business expansion, acquisition and contraction or divestiture. He has made a strong contribution to clients pre and post acquisition/merger/divestiture. Troy has served as a contract executive to provide 'in house' direction and guidance to accelerate performance improvement initiatives.

He holds various teaching positions with Executive MBA Programs at Rice, Pepperdine, and Georgetown Universities. In addition, Troy guest lectures at The University of Texas - Southwestern Medical School.
As an educator and consultant, David has assisted students and clients in developing and implementing new ideas and business strategies. As a consultant he focuses on: energy; strategic use of innovation for competitive advantage; and, technology and strategic risk. David has authored several books and testified before the United States Congress on these subjects.
David provides consulting services to companies with North American and International activities in a variety of industries: mining, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, distribution, engineering design and construction. He has advised the U.S. government on science and technology matters through National Academy of Science committees and as Chairman of the Environmental Management Advisory Board of the Department of Energy. In addition to his consulting and advisory activities David is a professor of engineering and business at Clemson University.
Prior to his academic and consulting activities, his past experience includes Vice President of the Midwest Research Institute, Assistant Director of the U. S. Congressional Budget Office, and Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Energy. He served in the Army after graduation from the US Military Academy.
David has a B.Sc.; an M.Sc. (Nuclear Engineering) an M.Sc. (Management); and a Doctor of Business Administration (Harvard). He is a Senior Fellow at Clemson's Spiro Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. David serves on the Board of Directors of Great Plains Energy (a diversified energy company and electric utility), the Commerce Funds (a mutual fund), and several privately held ventures.
Ken has over 25 years of accomplishments as a manager, executive, and consultant in North American and International business. His expertise includes coaching executives for performance and growth in circumstances of new challenges, change and transition. Ken is particularly interested in the various leadership and organization implications arising from the development and implementation of market facing business strategy.
As a consultant, Ken has provided services in to industry leaders and top sector performers in: Infrastructure/Construction, Distribution, 'green' energy, Financial Services, pre IPO high tech, new business entry and coaching of senior executives transitioning to new circumstances. Prior to consulting, Ken had wide ranging industry experience: energy, "green" energy, transportation/distribution, infrastructure development & construction, financial services, high tech, consumer products/packaged goods and being an entrepreneur. In his most recent corporate role he was the Executive accountable for the full suite of Human Resource services as his unit grew from a business branch to a Division contributing over one third of the company's net profits within 6 years. The business had operations in 12 countries and conducted activities in another 7 with an executive team on 4 continents. As the key internal coach to his executive colleagues he was the cornerstone of a culture built on common values and "leadership by attraction".
Ken's educational background includes a B.Sc. (Chemistry, Psychology), Graduate Diploma (Counseling) and Graduate courses in Learning and Development.
Ron has successfully provided his consulting skills to clients for over 20 years. He excels in assisting executive teams in creating and executing business strategies framed from a marketplace perspective. Ron's strong project management skills assist clients to effectively plan and implement substantive change initiatives driven by mergers, acquisitions, organization re-design and line of business transformation. He has a particular interest in assisting improvement teams in planning and implementing process redesign, to deliver results in minimal time.
As a consultant Ron provides service to clients in every phase the business cycle: from establishing strategy through to developing performance systems which track results. Liz has more than 20 years of success in general management, executive and consulting roles for publicly trade companies carrying on business in North and South America and Internationally. She has a particular interest in scenario creation through to strategy development and the implications for organizational transformation. Liz has developed substantial expertise in Post Action Review design and execution and effective methodologies to assist clients in incorporating the learnings into business practices.
As a consultant, Liz has provided support to Global 1000 in a variety of industries with clients at differing stages in their business model. In the area of new technology she has assisted clients in examining evolving technologies, assessing nascent trends and commercial value through to anticipating performance impacts. She is a leader in using competitive intelligence to take and "outside in" look at businesses and surfacing the marketplace realities of the client's strategy and its implementation.
Prior to consulting, Liz held senior leadership and executive positions in: Oil and Gas Pipeline Transportation, International Oil and Gas exploration and production, Energy Marketing including the Retail space, Oilfield Services, Power Generation, Specialty Chemicals, and Telecommunications Infrastructure Development. In her roles within Corporate Strategic Planning, Liz pioneered the introduction of in-house pro-active competitive intelligence, including start-up of the function and integration into the strategic thinking and strategic decision-making process. She has been accountable for new business line startup, market entry and due diligence processes for acquisitions and divestitures.

Andrew has more than 25 years of experience as a senior manager, executive and consultant. He has particular expertise and specific interest in leadership/executive competencies as they impact strategy, from creation through execution. He has had considerable success in using action learning as a development tool for senior leadership teams. Andrew also has extensive experience in structuring and leading large-scale change initiatives in support of organizational objectives.
As a consultant Andrew has provided support to clients in North America and internationally. Client industries include: hard goods manufacturing, refining, oil production, and commercial information processing. Assignments have ranged from marketplace assessments and organizational reviews to process engineering and design of budgeting and cost reporting systems in the energy industry.
During his career in industry, Andrew held senior leadership and executive roles with accountability for key business functions: long range planning, maintenance and operations, operations services, materials and procurement, human resources, and management development. Prior to industry Andrew was a Naval Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps.

Prior to consulting Arden was a leader and executive with a global energy leader, contributing to the creation and definition of scenarios for business activities in North America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Latin America. He was instrumental in implementing an intensive learning workshop process to help senior management teams understand and implement strategic decisions. Earlier Arden taught at a university following his post graduate studies.
